The brief descriptions below are designed to familiarize you with our staff's training, professional credentials and work experience.

Dr. David Petersen
Dr. David Petersen was raised in Westminster, California where he graduated from La Quinta High School.  He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology from Brigham Young University in 1994.  Dr. Petersen earned his Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine in 1998 from the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco.  He completed his residency training in podiatric medicine and foot surgery at the University of Southern California/L.A. County Hospital.  He followed this with a 2 year fellowship in Advanced Foot & Ankle Surgery in Irvine, California. 

Dr. Petersen has practiced in Orange County and Los Angeles since 1998 and is currently associated with the American, California, and Orange County Chapters of Podiatric Medical Associations.  He is an Eagle Scout and loves playing basketball, soccer, and beach volleyball.  He has coached soccer in AYSO, AYSO Extra and the Elite signature soccer league over the past 10 + years.  He also enjoys playing the piano and organ at his local church.  He and his wife have four children.


Dr. Brent Beirdneau

Dr. Brent Beirdneau will be the newest addition to Pacific Foot & Ankle Center starting June 2019. He was raised in southern Washington state and attended high school in Gilbert, Arizona. After receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from Brigham Young University, he earned his Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine from Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine in Independence, Ohio. His surgical training was completed at United Health Services Hospitals in New York where he served as the Chief surgical resident.

Dr. Beirdneau is well-versed in diabetic foot care, limb salvage, sports medicine, and trauma. He enjoys both forefoot and rearfoot surgery including reconstructive procedures, tendon repair, and ankle arthroscopy.

Dr. Beirdneau enjoys spending his spare time with his wife and four children. He also loves playing basketball, reading, fishing, hiking, and going to the beach. Dr. Beirdneau speaks Spanish fluently.
